Born on date

I'm considering buying an axis, serial number G24092. It's on ebay. I want one of these guitars BAD, but I don't want to get ripped off. Could someone clue me in on the date of this guitar and anything I should find out before buying it?

As koogs said, welcome to the addiction! We're pretty good about that eBay thing here, we won't snipe you (I already have 2 -- see below), and everyone's usually broke as it is from buying new from EBMM already.

I'd get the DOB for the sake of getting the DOB, and gauge its age, etc. I'd also look at how much it was played, neck condition, has it been modded (doesn't appear to be at first glance), etc.

I don't care so much about appearance, even though this is a sweet lookin' guitar. The sound is most important. Would it be crazy to pay $800 for it?
