Boss FS-6 dual foot switch

I just bought a Boss FS-6 (which has a stereo in, 2 monos A/B out) with hopes that I could run a stereo cable from my AL to the FS6 in, then out to two separate mono cables, one to an acoustic amp for the piezo the other to an amp for the ceramic pickups. It works but the problem is that the amp with the ceramic pu signal sounds like there's a wet towel thrown over it. Sounds fine when I run two separate mono cables from the AL directly into each amp. After trying a number of cables and combinations, I figured the problem must have something to do with the FS6 and some type of phasing thing?

Anyone tried the FS6?

Just looked at the manual, though I've never used one.

Looks to me like it's meant to be a dual footswitch for controlling external functions rather than an A/B box (ie it wasn't meant to pass audio). So I'm gathering it's not a direct signal from the TRS to the mono outputs and passes through some circuitry. (There's no impedance specified so hard to say.)

Sounds like your buffered signal (piezo) passed through it ok while the passive signal takes a beating, which supports the above theory.

i thought the fs-6 was for controlling amps etc.. dont think they have paid any attention to the quality of the switches sound wise...

perhaps check out the LS-2 instead which is intended for switching 2items to 1 (or vice versa)

I think you're right. Serves me right for not reading the manual before buying it.
