I'm not sure how to respond to that, frankly.

Will this help?

It is time for me to just say the Bongo is not a cult. It is just simply the best bass ever built. Anyone that doesn't get that just needs some more time playing bass.

I need a Bongo to play, is what. I haven't actually played one, but I'd buy one on sound and looks alone

If it weren't for the Sterling 5 and the fact that I've grown shy to the idea of picking a 6 string up again, I'd be playing a Bongo right now. They are fascinating instruments that are simply sonically destructive.

I like sitting on the toilet. Sometimes the Bongo kinda makes me wish I played bass....well, not really....well, maybe sometimes...but don't tell the guitar guys I said that...you know how they feel about bass players...and then there's that whole stigma thing associated with being a bass player. I guess I better just stick with the geetars. But hey, I don't care what most of the geetar players say, you guys seem to be pretty cool and I really love that Bongo!

Sorry if this has already been posted...didn't see it.

YouTube - Episode 16- Summer NAMM 2008- Nashville, Tennessee- Part 2

THanks for posting this, and forgive a thin stringer posting in the hallowed ground, i'm new here, it's my first day.....etc...

Poppa,

you mention renewable materials in your quest for resonance, a while back I started wallace-guitars.com which was going to be a guiar building company making instruments from recycled materials, bodies put together with offcuts etc. it was a total disaster, and I've now had to close my doors, whilst I have no intention of going back, I just wondered if there was more to the story you could tell us, we tried carbon fibre, which were off cuts from a company that makes aftermarket interiors for Mercedes but couldn't get much more sustain than most woods, be very interested to hear you views on it.

Great video and you're still loosing weight, it's kind of wierd watching you on streaming video - the voice is the same but the face looks different!

I have to say that I really, really, really hate when a bass is described as sounding like another bass on steroids.

I certainly don't think the Bongo has shriveled testicles, is balding prematurely and has an enlarged cranium. And, I don't even think it sounds like a Stingray, but "stronger," either.

I really hate it when people describe the effects of steroid abuse instead of proper use. I really hate it when they can't even get the side effects right either. Kind of hard to enlarge bone once it has hardened. Enlarged cranium indeed...

When BP mentioned he coulda made the Bongo in an SR body, it made me think ... what would you call a cross between an SR and a Bongo? A Bongray? Or a Stingo? I like 'em both.
