At the Friday night Jam BP had what looked like a Rosewood Axis SS w/90's (the one with the BIFF strap that Tommy also played the p*ss out of a few times ). But after looking at it for a while the top, although it had the straight grain, it seemed too light to be rosewood. It was one sweet looking and sounding guitar.

Anyone know if me eyes deceived me or if the top of that guitar was a actually different wood which he made as a one off for himself?

Also, is a rosewood SS w/90's an ash body typical of the maple capped SS w/90's?

Man I went to this thing figuring the Y2D was it, but now I'm so considering a Rosewood SS 90's and piezo

Things that make you go Hmmmmm.......

Uh - Oh

Here comes the EB Custom Shop topic again

OK - I want a Mahogany JP with a Maple top and a solid Brazilian Rosewood Neck. No binding and a single coil in the neck position no middle pickup. H _ S configuration. :D

And Sparkley too? (I'd better finish that album so I can sell some and get and endorsement deal, eh?)

Oh man....let's not start that again.....I believe, correct me if I am wrong, that Big Poppa said "You get the blue dawn finish if you are Dave LaRue." So, I think we all just have to hope for e-bay.......

It was cool seeing all the one off's though. Such spectacular guitars, but aren't they all!?!?!!? LOL

Yep!

"How did Dave get Blue Dawn on a Bongo, wasn't that color discontinued before the bongo came out?"

- Yes, the only way to get the Blue Dawn finish on a Bongo is if you are Dave Larue

One of the MANY wonderful statements/questions I will always remember from the Open House.

Steve Morse explaining how he drives and practices guitar at the same time was priceless, too!

Stop...I beg of thee.

To paraphrase a comment made at the Open House:

"A custom shop is only good for you when your standard line of production sucks."

I really don't see that as an issue here, so can we nip this issue in the bud?

Thanks. :)
