Here is a brand new clip of a song I'm working on. Just the basic rhythm tracks so far.. all me. I hope to get vocals finished soon, add lead guitar, and call it done!

Both my JP6 and my Y2D are mixed into the guitar 'sound' that you hear.

Is it done yet!?

I can't wait to see what you're going to do solo wise.
I can picture many possibilities in my head. Oh the possibilities. :)

I thought it was outright horrible!

;)

No, I'm kidding... I liked it. I like the tone, is that the peizo on the JP I'm hearing mostly? If not, what?

I just wanted to say no, since I've never seen that happen, on any forum when someone posts a clip. I guess it'd be too rude.

Thanks, guys!

Philip and fogman: this is not the final version, and in fact you're only hearing 2 'cycles' through the progession.. there's a whole other cycle on my unabridged version. I plan to have vocals through 2 cycles and then play a lot of guitar through the 3rd cycle..perhaps including some vocal interplay with the guitar.
Foggy, I've got some basic ideas for parts here & there, solo-wise.. but I'll probably improv a lot of the in-between.

blackspy: don't worry about me.. I'm pretty thick-skinned and I certainly can take a joke since I like to dish it out as well! :) The guitar is not the JP's piezo, but rather 4 tracks:

* a stereo recording of the JP6 with the middle pickup position, played through my Digitech RP-2000 and recorded direct.

* a mono recording of my Y2D played through the Digitech RP-2000 and recorded direct.

* a mono recording of the Y2D played through a Roland Micro-cube and recorded direct.

The main sound is the JP6 stereo recording, with just some subtle blending of the Y2D tracks to add some barely perceptible 'texture'.

The bass is my F@nder P-bass with Duncan active EQ pickup recorded direct.

Drums are my programming of a Boss DR-770. They're a little loud in this mix, intentionally. The eventual mix with vocals will have them pulled down.

Colin,

Used my trusty Fostex VF-16. It's a dedicated 16-track digital multitracker that records to hard drive. That's it! No outboard gear. Just my guitars, drum machine, RP-2000 pedalboard, and the Roland Micro-cube (just as an experiment more than anything).

Cool.. I can never tell what the infamous JP peizo is or isn't when I listen to recordings. I guess once I heard it alone with just the guitar I'd get it.

It's pretty cool some of the nice tones you can get by layering like that though.

I'm goofy like that. I had the tracks available, so I added those extra Y2D rhythm tracks.. just for the hell of it. When I played the main stereo track on the JP6, my 2nd string went a little out of tune part-way through the song. It's making me crazy and I'll probably re-cut that track to fix it. IN the meantime, the blending of the Y2d tracks helps to hide it a little.

I worked on the vocals tonight at band practice. I've got the vocal melody like 95% and I have portions of lyrics here and there. I might actually finish this baby within a week or so!
