Photos: Brand New Stingray Limited Ebony Edition!!

Hello!

I've made some beautiful pictures of my brand-new Stingray 4 3EQ Limited Ebony Edition 2008/09 from Germany (one of 50 hand-made masterpieces for this series). So, I won't deprive you of this. I'm sooo proud of that bass... wow!
This Stingray sounds bombastic with the mahogany body, ebony fretboard and string-through-body concept! "Blackest" StingRay ever I think. But....
Let the pictures talk....

Amazing! that looks incredible. How does it sound compared to a regular model?

Plus it's nice to know that the rainforest is being put to good use, rather than just sitting there.

Hi!

Unfortunately only available in Germany and Swiss. No other countries (hmm?? why??)
Small limited series for these countries for 2 distributors I think. I'm glad I got one because there are getting very rare in shops already. .....Playing all the time this "beast" I recognized the amazing sound and wood quality (some settings sound "semi-acoustic ---> hollow-body like", some other like a metal bomb, clear and beautiful hights, deep growling bass...great variety! Ask the big dealer in Germany (Thomann Cyberstore) where the bass is still available (credit card should be no problem, the dealer is well known here!) for some days. Priced in Germany at $2,570 (1,990 Euro). That's a deal at the moment, normal price is $2,940. I couldn't wait (prickle fingers!), because of the small number of the whole series.

Greetings!
Bartek

Whoa, what a stunning bass you have there. And a string through body as well. Nice score, Bartek!

Welcome to the forum. You're with your peeps.

ps - Is the headstock blue?

... after 7 days playing... the Stingray seems to be very "brilliant" in the mid (more than maple and rosewood). Never ending sustain with a discreet metallic lower harmonic (little bit more characteristic and clear during fading out). You can "feel & hear" with good amp+speaker that the ebony is "harder" than maple. It's sounds very straight, deep and the electronics seem to be very good balanced to the wood/string-through body concept. It's hard to explain, but I'm very astonished about that piece of bass. Especially the metallic, very deep semi-acoustic character I hit on some settings! Worth to play ...and completes very well the Stingray series with another nuances of sound!

I call it: pick the cable of the San Francisco Bay Bridge and hear the devil’s growl surrounded by the vivid crying of the wind ;-)

PS: Headstock is black (the light was not perfect during the shots!)

Bye!
Bartek

Those have mahog bodies, right? Probably helps some with that tone and sustain you're getting. :)

Totally gorj ... congrats.

Japan, Germany and Canada seem well catered for in the special limited run department. Some of the stuff made for those countries is fantastic! Where are the Aussie LEs? :)

Yes, mahogany body, that's right. I think it's the mixture of all (fretboard, body, string through) that makes the little changes possible. The stingray character is still distinctive. And it's the highest priority to maintain this. Good job Ernie!

greetings!

Sorry, you're right. Germany & Austria!
The bass is not far away from you ;-)..... So, in a few days we are two in the "black-limited" club.. :)

Cheers!
