Here is the deal. I just purchased my first music man bass on Wednesday from a dealership that is over 3,000 miles away. I played the electric bass for seven years prior to going to college where my studies were concentrated on the Contrabass. Up until two weeks ago I had not touched an electric bass in two years. When I was playing the electric, i owned the lamest electric bass possible, yes, a Fender Squire II. What can I say it got me through high school. I made some wierd modifications to it and then sold it in a moment of abject poverty. About three months ago, I started noticing a twitch, not a twitch like "I have MS" but an "I NEED TO PLAY A BASS GUITAR" twitch. There is one Music Man dealer in my state and they scare me, not to mention they threw me out last week because I kept coming in and playing instruments and was not quick enough to decide which Music Man bass I wanted. Here I was trying to figure out if I wanted a Sterling,Stingray, Stingray 5, do I want frets, if I don't do I want it lined or unlined. I was going to do a custom order with them because I think that if I am going to step up and buy an expensive bass I might as well get what I want. But they threw me out, thier loss. SO I scoured the country courtesy of the Ernie Ball website for a bass that was as close to what I wanted without having to custom order it because I JUST CAN'T WAIT; I NEED A MUSIC MAN NOW!
The dealer sent it to be 2nd day air, it should be here today. but if it doesn't get here I will have to wait till monday. Right now I am 12 hours away from my bass. I don't know what to do with myself. All I have been doing for the last two days is looking at pitcures of Stingray 5's on the web. If I have to wait till monday, this weekend will probably include me lighting my house on fire. I have probably crossed the line to certifiable. I thought I vent in hopes that I could return to Earth.
Thanks for listening,
