The Sterling bridge is the same as the Sting Ray bridge.

There's been a few changes since 1993 (Sterling release date):

*Mute assembly removed and replaced with hex screws. This mod began circa 1993.

*The area of the bridge which previously supported the mute assembly was deleted. This made the bridge length shorter. 1996.

*The 3 anchor bolts at end of bridge were more centralised. Early 1998.

*The string grooves were cut more towards the centre rather than the extreme outside of the saddles. Early 1998.

*The height adjustment screw holes on the saddles were bevelled. Latter 1998.

*String groves on the saddles are "V" cut. Circa mid 2003.

Hey Ken.

I'm talking about when the new features appeared. I've seen the odd 1996 Bass with the larger bridge but that still doesn't preclude the smaller bridge from being introduced in 1996. I suppose it would depend on when the Bass was assembled as opposed to when it left the factory. Perhaps older bridge stocks were used up rather than being discarded. Maybe BP or Jon could shed light on that.

Likewise with the mute assembly. It was around 1993 that the mutes began being deleted. But I've certainly seen Basses after 1993 with the assemblies attached. My 94 has them attached. EB also sold seperate kits so they could be re-attached.

Hey Ken. Not silly of you at all. They're just observations I've made. I'd be the first to admit that sometimes I've been way off beat.

Good luck :D
