Hey all. Recently broke the nut on my Stingray Classic 5 at the G string. I ordered replacements from Ernie Ball expecting that they would come slotted but alas they did not. I spoke with a local luthier about cutting and shaping one for me and he quoted me $85. Is this a fair price? Also does anyone know of a manufacturer who makes pre slotted nuts for this bass model? I've found some that might be close but thats about it.

Regards

Think $60 an hour and yes, that's not bad.

Do any of the pre-slotted graphtech nuts work on EB basses?

I'm checking with Graphtech. Just waiting on a response. Thanks for the info on luthier costs. I do the set up and maintenance myself so I had no clue as far as what cost would be. I'd give it a go but dont have the right tools to do so.
