Hi fellas,

I have my latest family addition, the Candy Red Silo Special, since last summer now but did not post pics before. It was a S/S/S version with a white pickguard originally which did not quite suit my style.
Like all my Silos before, this one's been pimped alot:

- Black Ice pickguard
- DiMarzio AirZone bridge humbucker
- Kinman AVn '56 single coils in neck and middle position
- chrome caps for the CTS pots

One of the best looking Silos I've seen on here.

The Candy red with the RW neck...chrome knobs and pickguard is a sexy combo!

Hey Fogster !

Indeed, I really need to do that. Only problem is, that some of them are permanently at our band's rehearsal space around 100 km away from where I live, one is with me at home, and some others are at my tech's place.
Sadly I am currently "out of affairs" due to a recent motorcycle accident where I broke 7 ribs on my right side. So I am currently spending some time at home recovering the best I can before getting back in my car to see my bandmates and my other babies again...

I cannot recommend breaking basically all your ribs on one side at all as I cannot even carry a guitar at the moment. However, I eventually succeeded in playing 15 minutes on a chair this afternoon, the red Silo Special on my leg.

...****ty thing crashing your bike, when on yer way from southern Germany across the Alps to Italy, but as soon as I am completely "one-piece" again, I'll take care to get you a nice family pic of my balls :D

...meanwhile - just the separate pics in the albums in my sig for the time being :)

Cheers from shattered Axilla

Hi Andy !

Thankya so much ! Yeah, jokes really hurt at the moment and I even stopped smoking for now as I just cannot afford coughing :D
How are things in Spain ? That's where I planned to go this summer on my bike, but as things are now, I first gotta recover, then put my bike back together, and afterwards I'll see what is faisable...

Nice seeing you here again !

Cheers

Axel

I'm toying with putting a metal knob on my silo special, did you switch to solid shaft pots, or use some kind of adapter ( Product detail )?

The original electronics went out with the original pickguard. This is a Black Ice original EBMM spare PG and the PUs are aftermarket. The internals are CTS pots, some way cool 5-way-switch and an original EBMM quick connector for fast PG changes between my Silos. As the pots are CTS, I could use whatever chrome knobs I desired.
...and yes - Mick's the magician who does the hardware-artwork on all my guitars :D ...c b low

lovely SS. candy red is such a cool finish with rosewood board on that guitar

I like Alfas too

Thanks mate, but that Alfa is not mine. Mine's the Audi next to it not shown in the picture...

Thankos muchos, my master tech :D
I really should take some pics when interchanging PGs sometime and show them here. Your work is unparalleled, but who am I telling ...

Yeah, Supermoto !!!
Way cool ride, mate. Mine is a classic old 1991 BMW R100GS EnTouro and the parts for rebuilding it will arrive any day now :)

Hey, Ax, sorry about your misfortune, and hope your healing is fast and complete. Good that you're off the smokes, though. I just passed the 6 month no smoking mark.

Sweet custom Silo Special!
