You're doing a solid maple body? I'd expect it'll weigh 20 pounds.....unless this is the cap and something light is going underneath. Building your own neck......impressive. It's on my list of things to learn to do, but finishing a couple builds using stock components and just painting and putting together is all I'm up to so far. I do have an old pine beam that'll become a guitar body sometime soon. If I use the tools that I own, the initial cut will have to be by chainsaw. And I'm not even kidding.
Sure! Topic will be updated as i do something. Now im waiting (i dont know for what, maybe for more free time) then i have to order fixed bridge and truss rod then i have to route rod channel in mahogany. Maybe this week I'll go with body for edges sanding.
And band saw owner badly needed in my neighbourhood...
I'm building one too - but it's not an EB style guitar so can't really post it here - gonna be made for slide and I'm making it out of a "Brains Beer Drip Tray" (similar to this) which will cap a chambered piece of tone wood.
Im kinda pissed of. In place where neck touches body i have kinda 0.7mm free space and this makes me mad. Fingerboard will hide it but bad taste lefts ... hand router isn't really good idea for work like this.
