Only this time it didn't feel good :D

Should I take it to a local guy and have him cut a new one or does EB have a parts department where I can order a replacement nut?

You can order a nut blank from EB/MM, but it will have to be shaped and slotted.

No pre cut nuts?

I don't want to slam any local techs since I have no experience with any of them but I have concerns that my baby won't be as good as before.

We shape and cut the nut slots on the neck. We can do this for you if you would like to send your instrument here.

that can be glued easily............but not while it's in position.....
does both sides slide out of the nut slot ??????
Just the little half comes out but only when the bass isn't strung up. When the strings are on it it stays in place.

What kind of glue should I use and where do I get it?

yes it would. that's what i meant by not in position.
you have to remove the nut to glue it. i use a vise to hold the nut in proper position....glue it....sand the faces smooth..then re insert.

Hi all, I just registered because I just got an sr5! I got it second hand from this guy who got it in Japan...I know this thread hasn't seen activity in a while, but I have kind of the same problem and to make matters worse, I live in the Philippines...we do have a local distributor, but my experiences dealing with them have been less than fun. Is there any replacement nut for an sr5 I can order online internationally?
