Ive had my guitar for quite a long time (a year) and I have always "accepted" in a way the buzz on my petrucci EBMM model. Thing is now im using more the high E string and I notice the sound is just unbearable (the 24th fret is the worst!) the string buzzes through the whole neck and the odd thing its that is only THIS string the one that buzzes. I have tryed with the FAQ, going clockwise and counterclockwise with the nut, setting the strings up and down and moving the saddles.

Im mexican and english is (obviously) not my first language so im not used to the terms saddles, nut etc, can someone please set me in the right direction concerning definitions so I can understand perfectly well what you guys are telling me? :D thanks! Btw, nice forum, and I love the support EB gives to their customers :) . And the petrucci model rocks ;) .

Edit: Update, I feel bad for not informing on this forum what happened. Anyway, its all fine now, changed strings, adjusted the guitar and now its all fine and works like a charm. Thanks for all your support guys, and sorry to leave you hanging for so long...sorry....

Something in the bridge or body is messed up and rattleing...
Is the string hitting a pickup?????
Check to make sure your pups are not too high. Make sure you have no loose parts in your bridge or control cavity...
It's not a fret problem if it's buzzing at the 24th.

remove the cover for the trem, and see if it goes away....or check to make sure the screws holding the trem cover are tight....
Also look to see if there is anything loose under or around the saddles.
Make sure none of the trem springs are vibrating against the rear cavity...

Kind of off the subject, but I would check your intonation...From the position of the saddles, it can't be right.

Why do you want to remove it? just use screws which are on the back of saddles to set your intonation...

I dont know if its an electronics problem... because when I use the middle setting on the switch I can barely (or not) notice the buzz, plus there is no static. But when I use the first or 3rd switch then it starts to buzz, and unless im touching anything metal on the guitar it starts to crackle like static, again, not on the 2nd (middle) setting. So could this be a pickup problem, which I hope isnt?

Is the string buzzing or are the electronics noisy? Simpler: does the string make noise when played without the amp?

I'm not being sarcastic here, just clarifying...

the trem cover is on the back of the guitar. The screws should be easily accessible. When you remove the plastic trem cover, you will be looking at the trem springs, claw, and the bottom of the bridge.

I was not referring to the back plate. But I was talking about what is commonly known as the ashtray cover over the saddles.
There are screws that hold it in.
You have to simply remove the tremelo.
