How many of you guys on here are using the Monster Cable's ?? How do you like them ?? Or if not Monster what are you using. I'm using the George L's right now and they seem to be a little too much on the bassey side, so i was considering buying me some Monster Cables.

Here is the actual cable i'm looking at, any input would be great !!

Bill Lawrence low capacitance cable. 50 feet of cable and 10 connectors for under $50.

Low cap cables are great for clean sounds because they don't filter out the highs the way most standard cables do. Though, for playing with distortion you tend to want more mids in your signal and I find regular cables tend to be preferable.

I've always used Belden cable with Switchcraft connectors. But I haven't ever really auditioned cables one after the other to listen for differences. It's just that you can always find a Belden/Switchcraft cable.

God, I feel so out of place now.

*whispering* I use Monster Cable.

I have my entire rig Monster'ed, efx loop, floor pedals, head to cab, etc. -- and it's a 5150 to boot. Cuts a hella lot of noise out of the mix, and clean clean clean. I personally don't think that you could go wrong with 'em.

George L's, not trying to knock, seem too frail for me (or at least someone with my level of grace :)), and one misstep with my big clod could rip the puppy right in half. Maybe I'm overzealous in that aspect, but I could truly see that happening with me (I know my karma...LOL!)

To each their own, I always say...

My buddies work for D'Addario/ Evans/ PW and I got into the cables before they worked there, but after seeing the operation, you can't go wrong.

I buy ProCo cables now. I used to use RapCo cables but can't find them around like I used to. I would use planet waves or monster or whatever works well, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. But ProCo work fine for now.

You can't go wrong with the Monster Rock.

Monster cables are engineered for specific applications.

Get the shortest length you can live with (10'- 18')

"Anybody that works with audio/video knows that the cables
are an extremely important part of the signal chain, and they
pay alot of money, and alot of attention to ensure that they
get the highest grade cables that they can.

Many of us pay an awful lot of attention to our equipment.
We practice, carefully select guitars, amps and effects to shape
the tone we hear in our heads. To spend literally thousands of
dollars chasing our tone and then to use a cheap cable is like
building a racing car for the Daytona 500 and then using street
tires. It may work, but you can do better." {cowden}

I have my entire guitar and PA wired with the studio pro 1000 series Monster cable. Major difference in quality over their other series. But for cables that you unplug to pack up each night, like your guitar cable, I use Evidence lyric hgs or the siren for speaker connections. Monster cables plugs are oversized and can strecth out your jacks, so you could end up with a bad jack. It is very $$$$, but next time you have GAS just buy a nice cable or two, before long you'll be set. The improvement in sound and reduced noise is worth it!!! D.

I find the Georgel L's low capacitince(sp?) 155 is really clean and picks up the highs well,I know what you mean about them being thin though.

Thanks guys, all the input has really helped out. After much thought and consideration i've decided not to go with Monster cables, i just couldn't bring myself to shell out nearly $100.00 for two cables, i think i've decided to go with ProCo. Lifelines, very nice looking cable for a reasonable price, plus they're backed by 20 year warranty. Thanks again guys !!!

Monster cable is pretty much garbage in my opinion. I've done tons of tests with them, and they always fall short and are way way way way overpriced for the quality you get. IMHO a $100 monster cable is worth $10 at best.
It really depends on gear also. You can go to the top of the line stuff like Evidence, Two Rock Canare etc...., or get real high quality from companies like Belden, George L's etc...
Most people don't need super high end cables.
You should just get what is necessary for your needs.

PS-It's great that Monster has a lifetime guarantee, you'll need to use it every 2-3 months since they break like glass all the time.

You guys are gonna think I'm crazy, but I've been using ERNIE BALL cables forever. I love 'em. Affordable, tough, and since I'm a hack, I can't tell the difference between them and others that I've had and tried (Planet Waves mostly)... Oh Well...
