Call me crazy, but I can't get the 20th out of my head.

to be brutally honest, the 20th silo isnt getting loads of love. My silo special is my number one go-to axe, versatility to the max, just a great understated guitar. 2nd would be the Luke. the rest just get the left over time. the last few days i've been trying to bond with the Y2D, its the least favourite so far, but ive made great strides with it now, and i like it a lot more. its hard to work out sometimes what a guitar can do for you, especially an artist model axe, which is suited so much to the artist!!

Poppycock! You just have too many guitars to play. When you are a collector you go in phases...there will be a time when you pick the 20th and not touch anything else for a week then back to another....The 20th sounds better that the sil spec.

Is that a fair comparison considering that the 20th is HH and the sil spec is HSS?

Ive been spending mondo time with my 20th silo hardtail lately. I'll have to admit--for me its kind of hard to catagorize. I've spent a good amount of time switchin back and forth between the Silo and a PRS standard24. Both humbucker guits---but totally different. I'm sure the set vs. bolt makes a difference---as does the full mahogany body of the PRS. I'm not sure I could definitely say the 20th sounds like any other guitar. To me --it seems to have its its own unique voice. This a GOOD thing. Now mind you--this is through my fairly simple setup of a HR deluxe and a DS-1 pedal. Unfortunantely--I dont have experience with a regular Silo to compare it to. That being said---my overall impression as I play it more and more---is that it is own thang---yet another unique and special voice in the arsenal. It definitely evokes certain tones---Ive pulled some great Allmans tones and Govt Mule stuff out of it---yet you can chicken pick like hell on it too!!!! More stuff pops out all the time as I play it more. I'm sure it will yeild even more different tones when I experiment with some other rigs(currently lookin 4 a Dr. Z MAZ 18 jr for some dirty stuff!!).

But i'm not a collector!! Really i'm not! i make my whole living from playing guitar, and i have no desire to become a collector. The 20th is one amazing axe, no doubting it. sounds supreme, but unfair to compare it to a HSS axe. it is its own beast. a mighty fine beast i might add!

who am i trying to kid eh? its just too hard to resist these great guitars, ive never bought so many guitars so quickly EVER, this last year has been crazy! it usually takes me months and months to make up my mind about guitars in the past, but once i found these balls i cant get enough of them!!!

I can't get the 20th out of my head either. I caved a few weeks back and ordered one from Pete (he'd ordered extras). I can't wait for it!

As for the Y2D- to each their own I guess. The Y2D is my fave, hands-down (though I love my original Morse almost as much)!

Beej ive had a really good last few days with the Y2D, its slowly making an impact. did a killer gig the other day with it, i was so impressed with the tone. It is so unique, and very different from my other balls. Killer axe, just taken me awhile to get used to it. Good enough for Mr Morse, way good enough for me!!

yeah, the y2d is my fav as well. Still won't stop me from getting other MM models though.
