I really like both of those colors. What are those Egyptian Smoke and Graphite Pearl, aren't they?

I'm thinking about ordering a single H fretless Bongo in Medalion Gold w/ Piezo... or maybe a H w/ a single coil... hmmm what do you guys think?

I love the neck single coil with Piezo for my fretless. But, then, I also plan to buy a fretless H/P 5 string at some point, too.... :D

I am assuming that the Piezos pick up the vibration of the string through the bridge/body/neck of the bass. If this is true then how does the Basswood of the Bongo compare to the wood (Alder?) of a StingRay for carrying the ambient vibrations to the Piezo pickups? I would guess that the more solid wood (Stingray) would carry a clearer tone to the Piezos. Anyone able to compare the two?

I'm not sure about all that... But I love my piezo equiped Bongo. I do a lot of studio work and that is where there 300 extra bucks comes in big time. I doubt the wood makes much of a difference. You can't beat the Bongo sound...

the piezo works by picking up the vibration of the string through direct contact on the bridge...

the wood only makes a difference in the way the strings will vibrate.
