There is no HS piezo Sterling nor Ray, with or without frets.
In the traditional MM lines, the piezo option is available only
for the 1H config. The Boingo, being newer, allows dual mag
PU's and piezo on the same ax [and with or without frets].
It's quite possible that once you trial the piezo Sterling you
will find that you don't need a neck PU ... but thaz a pretty
subjective thing, depending on your expectations and your
musical style. Also, it's a tough model to find in stock so
it's unlikely that you'll get to try one unless you live near a
cooperative forum brother who has one.
Finally, as the shepherd of a flock of 6 FL piezo 1H MM's I'm
able to say that ESPECIALLY for fretless, you are extremely
unlikely to miss having a neck PU. Not only do I favor bridge
heavy PU blends on my dual mag PU non-piezo FLs, but on
a piezo FL I tend toward a piezo heavy mix or 100% piezo
mix ... so I don't particularly fuss over the mag PU config. I
even drive the mag PU as far down into the body as possible
via the adjuster screws.
P.S. My musical taste and style may differ from yours, but
I do strongly believe that if your taste and style is opposite
mine, you wouldn't want piezos anywho [no one would hear
the difference in metal, hard rock, dance funk, etc]. I play
piezo FL in a duo, no drums, just piano, bass, and Ms Diva.
But I play fretted mag-PU-only in a percussion heavy Latin-
oriented several-piece group. I tried piezo FL for the latter
and it just didn't matter.
