Allright...how do I get a highly figured neck like those on a AL or AXIS, JP, etc., on a Silo? Without ordering the 20th(which I have already ordered, and another next week) Is that even possible to do, or is it just the luck of the draw? I can pay extra I promise...I am speaking here of a maple neck on a Silo. Thanks,

Luck of the draw...simple as that. I had to have a neck replaced (THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT BY ANY MEANS)....but the neck did not have the "bird's eye" like my other neck....Basically, I could care less, I wanted my axe fixed and Jon did a wonderful job of it.....I play the bad boy....not look at it....again, my 2 pennies....

Only way to be sure is to see it in a store or second hand before buying.

But ... you know if you're buying new that you're getting a PERFECT instrument ... so unless the figuring in the neck is the most important thing to you I wouldn't sweat it.

Well apparently the figuring of the 20th Silo necks are guaranteed and should be "artist grade" :D. I hope mine is covered to death in it, so that I will have one with 0, one with moderate and hopefully the 20th with crazyness (respectfuly).

on a Silo I haven't seen birdseye at all. I've seen more on earlier models but now they are plain maple. On the signature models birdseyes are a lot more likely to happen in my experience (and of course on Axis). Don't know if it is any rule

Even though an instument should be played and the playability, quality, etc. is the most important thing (why I play EBMM in the first place), I admit I do like to look at a nice figured neck along with a decent finish when I am done playing. Gives you something to look at and appreciate when knockin back a few Newcastles ya know? Thats just me though.

You'll have plenty too look at when you get your 2 20th Silos. I wish I could get 2 as well, but it's impossible now. What specs did you get on the 2 anyway? And I'm tellin you, the necks on those will turn out great :D.

the silos

I got the 2 silos the same, rosewood matching headstock peizo, although I do not yet know what top is coming on them. I may change this to a maple neck for one of them on Friday, but I am not sure yet. I intend to use them on a regular basis (a LOT), so I have to get 2 even though I should just get one. Basically, the new silo has everything I wanted on it, and I hate to be without a spare in case something happened to it. GOD FORBID...
