Sorry in advance for the long & technical question.

Very new player here, practicing on a Squier strat, but I already know my first "big boy guitar" is gonna be a St. Vincent Goldie. It sounds great, and the velveteen finish specifically makes it the coolest damn thing I've seen.

Now, the original St. Vincent HHH has custom wiring that I love - switch position 1 activates all 3 pickups at once, position 2 activates both the bridge and the neck, and the other 3 positions are to activate the pickups individually. The Goldie on the other hand uses more standard wiring, like you'd find on any SSS - positions 2 & 4 activate the middle pickup parallel with the neck or bridge pickups respectively.

I know this was intentional to distinguish the Goldie's tone from the original, but I call upon y'all's expertise: can I get EBMM to make a custom Goldie that has the original St. Vincent pickup wiring? Will that cost extra? Would I need to learn how to mod the pickups myself? Any insight is appreciated, I don't really have a frame of reference for this sort of thing.

They most likely use the same switch, you just need to move some wires around to get the old options. I don't think EBMM would do it for you, but any tech should be able to.

MM will email you a wiring diagram if you ask nicely :)

Re-wiring the guitar isn't usually difficult, however there's some expertise required. If you're not handy with a soldering iron, you can certainly get a tech to do it for you.
