Ok, first off this is going to be a bit long. As I said in my introductory post in April, I had stopped coming to this site because I had given on the hope of ever getting a lefty Petrucci after my years of emails asking "will you make it lefty", and was stunned when I found out they were now available lefty"

So a couple of thanks:
Thanks to Edrod, LeftyGuitarBlue, Nik Left RG, and JimmyJengas (does he still post) for showing that the demand for lefty guitars was there after people like myself just gave up.

Thanks to Aziah in customer service for helping my wife, and putting up with my shenanigans.

Thanks to Nick and Pete DuBaldo for the rosewood, and believe it or not a giant thanks to Larry at GC Boston who made me a GC customer again after 10 years of refusing to go back.

Also GC let me cancel my order for my JP6 BFR Walnut quilt despite the fact that it was a 2 month old order and refunded my money, so I that I will be able to order a Dargie from them when they are available. So Now I get a BFR, a Rosewood and a Dargie. Things worked out pretty well.

My house has terrible light for picture taking, and every room is a mess with baby stuff. The sun hasn't been out in Boston in 2 weeks and it's supposed to rain every day for the next week so no outside pics for now. And my camera is old and the batteries are almost dead so I'm sorry I promise I'll update once the sun comes out.

Oh and BP, this top really sucks super hard.

Dizzy, you may want to cover your eyes.

Again sorry about the picture quality, and yeah the baby room was the only place I could take even half decent pics.

Wow! Nice score!

Right handed strings will work, but you need to rewire the pickups to reverse the phase for it to sound right.

Welcome.......fellow Eastern Mass'er.

Congrats, they are both beautiful and to get them on the same day!

I know how it feels to finally have these guitars available to us lefty mutants, and it feels great. Now, where is the baby gonna sleep? The 7 string looks restful. :D

I gotta add, that they both sound great and so different, but man the forearm contour on the JP6 is so comfortable it's ridiculous.

It's a learning curve for me on both. I've been playing maple neck, floyd rose, 22 fret guitars for 22 years now, and my pick hand position was developed because I never had the edge trems, so the fine tuners were not slanted back but straight up, and I hated them touching my wrist. My hand seems to fall into a much more natural position on these.

I'm a mess on the 7 string. I'm all over the place, and playing everything on the wrong string:D I'm also baffled by the 23rd and 24th frets. It's like "oh hey what are those doing there". Also the access, especially on the BFR to the higher frets is wonderful, I keep expecting my hand to bump into the neck heel but it just keeps going.

So definitely a period of adjustment is needed. I have no issue switching back and forth between the rosewood and finished necks at all which I was concerned about. But that rosewood is addictive.

Congrats on those two monsters! Man I couldn't imagine two guitars arriving on the same day, that's just awesome. I've been meaning to try out a JP7 for quite some time now but no one near me carries them, I'm quite curious to how they feel.

You get used to the 7 after a while. I've been playing 7 string guitars for so long I have trouble switching to a 6. And the BFR heel is great. I absolutely love my BFRs for that same reason.

The rosewood is SO nice. I wish I had known about them during the order window. I would have gotten them on my BFRs. It's just so smooth you can't stop touching it.

Yeah, I was actually shocked. I just mentioned in passing to Larry my salesman at GC that I had emailed CS and asked if it was possible since my 6 string BFR wasn't painted yet if it could get the Dargie paint. He said "do you want me to give it another shot for you"?

So I figured what the hell. He called and and when he got off the phone he said, "they don't even have a part number for that yet you'll need to wait until about July 17th, and place a new order, but I cancelled the order for you".

He then refunded me my money, and just asked that when I order the Dargie I do it through him, which I will because he really did go above and beyond for me on my 7 string and now this. I would have like to order it through Pete, but I feel like I should honor my commitment.

I feel kind of bad and hope I didn't screw EB in any way, but Larry said it wasn't a big deal.

Edit: Spoke to AJ this morning about an unrelated issue. I guess the cancellation caused them a bit of an inconvenience, though the the guitar hadn't been built yet. So now I feel guilty. Sorry to everyone at EB for any problems I've caused.

Good for you.
