I'm totally oblivious with regards to the whole balanced/unbalanced thing. Don't know what it is, what it does, and what goes where.
I think a normal guitar chord is unbalanced, and a microphone is balanced?
Anyway, I have some microphone cable lying around, and I want to make some patch cables (for guitar) with it. Can I just twist the two cores together and solder them to the tip and the shield to the sleeve of a normal jack-plug?
