Meh this might be a stupid idea, but here goes. Any Canadians thinking of heading to SLO in September (the 17th of course), for the chance of a lifetime, what are the chances of getting together and renting a van, or even one of them mobile houses :D ...or perhaps we can charter a small aircraft

Raz,

You're at the top of the world. Talk about dedication. That's a long trek for you.

I'm in Tecumseh (bordering Windsor and Detroit).
I might be interested depending on how business goes. Cuz of course all extra funds must first go to guitar purchases!

I think an air conditioned Cube Van is in order!

Or maybe an 18 wheeler with a glass trailer (pope mobile-ish). We could jam in there.
Plaster the outside with EBMM advertising.
A mobile recording studio!!!

Just let me know how many people, what day, and I can get Pops to start cookin. We seat 20 or so Americans on Thanksgiving & Easter, so that's like 45 Canadian, right?

But don't forget.
Our beer! Not the stuff you get imported.

We only need to drink a few compared to needing double the amount in our American counterpart.

Stock up!!!

Raz, you're talking a trip of 3,000 miles - according to Mapquest, it would take 47 hours of driving to get there! That's not a road trip - at my age, that's a prelude to back surgery!

(Actually, just suggesting that I disappear for two weeks to go to a big guitar show in California would be prelude to brain surgery, 'cause my wife would almost certainly brain me with a frying pan for even trying to get away with that! ;) )

That's the difference between Jim and I, he thinks before he acts and I think about WHY I acted so...Why, Why :(

Well if we get a bunch of guys, 2 days of straight driving for a day of PURE bliss sounds manageable to me, afterall Jimi, you can always visit the Chiro dude when you get back!

And what the hell is with this meade...I don't get it

Unless you're a trucker popping pills (or perhaps illegals coming up through Mexico :D ), anything more than about 10 hours per day in a car/van on consecutive days is really tiring.

All you'd be doing is driving and stopping for gas/food/potty breaks.

Better IMO to fly to a destination like SF calif. meet up, and road trip from there down the beautiful california coast.

my 2 cents

Mead is fermented honey. I brew my own beer and have always wanted to do a mead. They can ferment for up to a year and then it should age in the bottle for at least a few months to a year to get right.

I've tried a few and wow, they can knock you out. Very high alcohol levels. Definitely a sipper.

Fred,

I've been known to dabble in zymurgy, myself. Nothing too fancy, just some nice basic brown ales. Good results, though! I haven't brewed any in a few years though, 'cause everyone kept drinking my efforts! I'd brew 2.5 cases and get a six pack for myself.. that's it!

Still, one of these days I'll have to make some more homebrew. I miss it.
