I was playing a new song this a.m. with my uber critical singer[female],and for once was complimented on the succulent tones coming from my old MM90 equipped axis sport. The song involves a lot of clean arpeggio picking, and we*ve been working on it for days.So today,I put a capo on the guitar to try a different open key.Bingo.The tonal difference from the original nut sound is huge..it*s like you can*t stop drooling,it*s that rich.Next question is who makes a replacement nut that can duplicate this tone...maybe a graphtec?I am truly blown away.

Not sure the nut has something to do with it.

It's more related to the use of the capo not of the material it is made of

technically you would be talking about the difference between a synthetic nut and a nickel/copper fret.....right?
