OK, I'm guessing that this is not something that many Pet players will be troubled with regularly, but the thinness of the Petrucci neck means that the (very good) Shubb capo that I have won't really clamp on the strings with proper pressure, even at it's tightest setting.

Anyone tried any other capo that works well on the Pet neck?

Cheers!:D

I recently bought some dunlop trigger capos from ebay for both acoustic and electric guitar.
The only difference between the 2 is the electric capo is a bit smaller in size but it does exactly what it says on the tin.

Just don't use the cheap $3 elastic ones on your JP! I used one for 2 minutes and it scratched my JP's neck right behind the 2nd fret (i was trying to play Opeth's 'Windowpane'). I was IRATE. I then sanded it a bit and oil/wax'd it. It feels better now, but there's still a little spot I can feel if I am looking for it... Grrrr...

Thanks folks.

I think I'll try a G7th next as we have a few positive reports here of it definitely fitting the Petrucci neck.

Cheers!:D

I only use Kyser and it's fantastic. It even does 7 stringers. And 12 stringers. And I've had it 10 years. Multiply those numbers and its well more than the price. Anyway, the Petrucci neck isn't thin enough to make capos not work or something.
