Hi everyone, I recently picked up a Luke with the BFR Rosewood neck and I was wondering about what kind of oil or conditioner to use? My Luke was sitting in the store for a year and I'm sure they didn't condition it at all, seems a little dry. I did a search and it seems like the back of the neck should be wiped with Casey's Tru oil and then wax and the rosewood fretboard should be cleaned and conditioned with orange oil, wonder wipes or something of that sort. Is this correct? I purchased Guitar Honey at the recommendation of the person at GC, he said its ok to use it on the back of the neck as well. Does anyone have any experience with it on their fretboards? I also have Lizard Spit which seems to work well on my other fretboards. Any thoughts before I apply anything to my neck? Thanks.

Ive bought from US - Fret Doctor , after reading a lot on internet about all kind of products.
fret doctor is just fabulous!
be careful with orange oil etc. Winder wipes are great too, I liked them
I use once at 4-5 months Fret Doctor on my JP's rosewood fretboard, and once a year birchwood casey tru oil and after wax for the back of the neck, after sanding it a bit (the neck is maple, I don't know if you can do the same with rosewood, but as far as I remember Music Man has the same finish on those neck as on my maple neck)

I'm glad to hear the rosewood necks are as if not more stable than the maple necks. Really hoping that the true gold rosewood neck Lukes go into production now :)

I use rosewood oil on mine. Easy enough to find at places like Whole Foods.

Thanks for the replies. Ok, I will try regular conditioner on the fretboard and Tru oil and wax on the rest of the neck. Haha, It does indeed exist. I had posted them in the other thread that I started before I picked it up last week.

I was under the impression that the rosewood necks had no finish at all, not even oil/wax. That said I haven't owned one.
Like PaoloGilberto suggested, Fret Doctor is great stuff.
