I gotta stick up for it - as I have one - a Mesa F50.
More than enough gain AND the clean channel is ..... ....... ......clean!!
Trouble is they don't make them anymore.
I got mine not because I'm a Mesa fanboi, but because it does what I want.
I'm sure the true Mesa afficiandos will have more knowledge of the later Mesa models.
I live by the adage "If it ain't broke don't try fixing it" ! so I won't be swapping the Mesa F50 for a later model.
