The climate here is torturous on guitar stability. Most of the year is extremely dry, summers are over 100F, and end of summer gets extremely humid. My Balls hold up surprising well to all this, but more tweaks are necessary because of the crazy weather patterns.

Recently, someone told me to put a sliced potato in my guitar cases (inside a soap dish with holes drilled though it) to keep the humidity in the cases more consistent and safely humidified.

Do you guys use case humidifiers? And, is there one you'd recommend?

I had a friend who kept his guitars in a walk-in-humidor. seriously. They were maintained at a comfortable 72 degrees with a humidity set at 68% - 72%. Now I know thats not practical for most people. I leave my Luke in the hardshell case with a few silica packs and it seems to keep it nice and dry. Sorry, i'm not much help.

Thanks, Lefty, that's cool.

That's the thing.. if I humidify my case, does that create even more inconsistency when it comes out of the case, then back in, and so forth? dunno...

Btw, blue Balls rule!
