The only way you get authorized work done on your EB/MM instruments is to send it to us. We do not authorize anyone else to repair our guitars.
 
I want to lower my action only. What do you think, should I send it over there? because im thinking about the shipping cost and such... :D

surely the authorized EBMM retailer where you purchased your bass has either a bass tech on staff qualified to raise/lower action, or they can refer you to the one they outsource their own adjustments to ...
I guess I'm lucky that my retailer - A) is qualified to do these minor adjustments where I don't feel I have the inclination or experience, B) has a good out source contractor for professional opinions C) would guide me to EBMM if I needed authorized repairs, D) my SR5s came so well setup from the factory I've never felt the need for action adjustment ...
mind you, that's not to say that if I was in the SLO neighbourhood I wouldn't stop by to have one of the masters diddle the intonation and fuss a teenie bit lower action, but just a teenie tweak ... I'm a firm believer that if it ain't broke, don't fix it / Rayan

Welcome to the board.

From what EB basses that I have played that were hanging on the wall in my local music store they are setup with about as low an action as anyone could hope for by EB. They are most likely set to the specs given on the faq page on this site.

As far as adjusting string height it is by far to one's own advantage to read up and learn to set the height, proper neck relief and intonation. IMHO

As for what EB will do before they ship a bass out I will let one of them answer that.
( I really feel they will do anything within reason to help any EB player out)

Learn to do minor adjustments yourself. Why pay someone to do something you can do? Look in the faq section here for instructions.
 
Have to agree with Jon here. I say it again and again to every musician I've ever worked with that deserves to hear it: Learn about your instrument. Read read read read Read! After all, if MM goes through all the trouble of not just creating these instruments, they get paid to do that, but to set them up, to make them sparkle, to give them that special something And follow through with better customer service than Any company I've ever seen... We owe it to ourselves, our basses, and the good people at EB themselves to learn all we can to care for our basses.







That's just my thought on the topic, sorry to sound so overbearing;): :p

I have been trying to look for the instruction in the FAQ, cant find anything :(
