The stingray comes in D Standard with 11 gauge strings. If I buy one, what do I need to do to change it to 10's and E Standard? Are there going to be issues with the nut?

The store owner mentioned there might be issues with the nut if I go lighter. I tend to stick with 10's and have been for years, so I haven't had to go lighter on anything, especially something with a trem system that's factory set up for a lower tuning.

Hello

I don't think you will have problem. You can have problems if you use a heavier gauge because the nut slots can be too narrow.
Of course you will have to check the intonation, adjust the truss rod and the springs tension. But the change you do is not extreme.
