Guys there is a thread called Secret Shopper in the guitar side that addresses GC and Marty Albertson the CEO of Guitar Center has posted.

See if you have any intelligent questions and we may get some insight from the most powerful guy in the musical product industry.

Very cool. It's not a GC issue (since we don't have those up in canuckistan), but I picked up a new Sterling in a music shop, and started playing. The G string was down to a D (or so..), so I tuned it up - got halfway there and the string popped right out of the tuning peg. It looked like whoever strung up the bass hadn't even wrapped the string around the peg...around a 3rd of the tuner was actually being touched by the string.


I told the guy at the counter he should fire whoever does his setups and he said it came right from the factory like that...seems kinda fishy to me.
