Very nice indeed. That should fetch a pretty penny.

The CLB is a great thing!! This just shows that EB/MM is a great company. :)

I'll be watching it that's for sure.

Thanx

Dan,

If the mandolin from Spinal tap is resevred at $3,500, then you can guaranty (spelling?) that this will go for a sh*t load.

It goes to a worth while charity.

I got my Silhouette Special from the auction site and thought that it was the best thing in the whole wide world (and still is). I got the guitar of my dreams and I'll NEVER get rid of it.

But like everyone else I'll be watching, because it's cool looking!! ;)

Not to mention the fact that I'm not crazy about the whole painted matching headstock thing.

Its awesome, but there's one major drawback...the fingerprints on that thing would be unbelievable and like impossible to keep clean. If your jammin and your buddy wants to see it in action you gotta say no because you just cleaned it. lol

OH MY GOD!!!!

its a dream of mine to have a chrome plated Axis,

Funny you should mention this...I recently came across a guy in California who supposedly does this kind of work who sells lotsa stuff on the Yahoo auctions (and no, I'm not affiliated with him)...

Here's a few examples:

http://page.auctions.shopping.yahoo.com/auction/84042854?aucview=0x30

Can't attest to his work personally, but he claims to do stuff for the big guys. Sez it's real metal and not paint, too...

I thought he had a webpage, but I can't seem to find it at the moment, but I'm sure you can contact him thru the auction site. If ya decide do it, let us know how it goes, as I'm considering getting one or more of my old Ibanezes done up this way...

Cheers PurpleSport!

there's no way i'd mod my current Axes, there's a guy I know who keeps trying to get me to have coil taps installed on them.... fat chance!

i'd be really tempted if i had an Axis without a flame top and the binding, and i know there are people in England who do it too. Maybe i should get the Luke done instead.... ;) :p

These chrome finishes are infamous for wearing very poorly - sure they look great at first, but have you seen Satch's chrome boys lately? I'll stick to poly, thanks...

steve stevens is an amazing guitarist. His work with Terry Bozzio and Tony Levins absolutely floors me ! Id say him, steve morse and jeff beck are my main sources of inspiration.

God bless,

Tony

Even harder to keep the fingerprints off, would be to keep the signatures on. Guitars with autographs usually should be refinished on top of the signature, but can you do that on chrome?

its a dream of mine to have a chrome plated Axis, kinda like that guy from Muse....

lets see how much that puppy goes for!

Dan,

Matt Bellamy has a chromed out Manson Custom.....Pretty trick if you ask me. I love Muse, Matt's a sick player. Too bad they don't get many props on this side of the pond. Theres actually a pretty cool snippet of Matt talking to Kirk Hammett on the Metallica website in the on tour section. It's a long video for the last Australian tour date, but Matt makes an appearance and Kirk has some questions for him. Pretty Cool. \\m//  \\m//
