Just spent a few days in chicago. Went to a GC near (in?) Northbrook.
First thing I do is ask a sales guy if there were any EB's, he said only 1. The axis in that room.
I picked up a zakk wylde and started tuning it to Open G. The salesguy seemed interested and came over and asked if it was open E. I said Open G. He asks if I play Banjo. I say no. He said you could. I said yeah? He says there's like 3 G's in the five strings.
I ask if he plays banjo. He says yeah. I'm thinking I've been in GC's probably 150 times in various cities and never heard a guy play banjo. So I say do you have a minute to play a little banjo.
Next thing we're in the acoustic room and he's fingerpicking some great banjo tunes. Now that was cool. He didn't even use finger picks.
