Chinese Ernie Ball guitars

I've found what seems like a really nice EB guitar in my local pawn shop.
Red/Burgundy in colour. Maple neck. HB exposed coil pups. The Eddy Van Halen shape.
Ernie Ball logo (plate) on back of headstock.
Made in China.
Can anyone tell me anything about them please?

I guess its an OLP, a licensed copy of EBMM guitars for the budget market. Does it say OLP on the front of the headstock? Price seems steep if it is an OLP, if it's not an OLP its a nasty copy!

Either way best save up your $'s for a real one!

OLP, yeah didn't think about it. I assumed China = cheap copy.

For a cheap copy, the OLP is as good as you're going to get.

OK... i'm the defender of the OLP so I will chime in...

I own several HIGH PRICED guitars a few '57 "G's" and a few custom shop "S's" and i saw the OLP on line and didn't have the cash for an EBMM...

I've fallen in love with my OLP and use it for just about everything. It did come in needing some set-up work but that goes for just about every guitar (EXCEPT EBMM's) and once i got it set up it's one sweet axe.

EBMM used his right as owner of EBMM to limit the fraud's that were taking place and copies that were awful and decided to go with OLP and license a copy of the body design and neck design and whatnot... in my opinion if you don't have the cash available go for an OLP; however, you need to do some research on the product and not get suckered by someone trying to sell an OLP as an EBMM... Unfortunately some people still try to scam and to those who don't know better fall for it...

I just tried an OLP JP this week, and I was really surprised by this very good guitar! Ok, it's just a copy, but an official copy, and the ratio quality/price is very interesting. I think I will buy the OLP double neck guitar one day.
