Just moments ago I banged the head stock on my low ceiling while removing guitar and chipped a chunk of clear coat 6mm x12mm Can this be repaired?
I am not happy with my heavy handed jack ass move.

ideas?

Clearcoat can be flatted back and resprayed - it would be pretty easy to blend in on a headstock.
You need someone who knows what they are doing. I have a man in Cardiff who could fix it - send the neck over !!!

Thanks Spud for being there for me. I just installed a Crown Royal bag on the head for protection. I will now play Albert even more now that its not minty fresh.

The first one's always the worst. It's nothing a Sharpie can't fix. Although with Buttercream, Liquid Paper might be better.

I slipped while clipping the high E string on my JP6 and gouged the piss out of the headstock, clear down to the wood. Made me sick because the rest of the guitar is show room quality with killer birdseye.

D'oh!?~

2 weeks ago tonight I received my Rosewood Axis SS......it's purpose is to give my 13 year old EVH some time off. The EVH is WELL played yet in great shape, with very few dings in the finish, especially the top. Well, while playing with the saddles and intonation on the Axis, I pulled the cable from it, and the jack somehow flew right into my EVH sitting there leaving a ding in it. It's the largest one in the top after 13 years. It's only about 1/5 inch big, but it broke the clear coat sticks out like a zip!?!?

The big reason for the Axis was to let the EVH avoid this kind of stuff!?!?!!? grrr

*Fingers crossed* Six months and I haven't had a ding yet, though I've had some impacts that probably should have left one. Now that I've said that, I'll probably smack the hell out of it tonight.

EBMM can repair anything except a broken heart....and they are currently working on that!

Personally, I'd leave it unless it affected the playability.

What's done is done. The best way to look at it is that these things give a guitar character and a story.

I learned a lesson last fall. I had been trying to sell my Les Paul with very mixed emotions at that time having walked from several offers. I was noodling around with one day in the basement after work just before dinner. I went up for dinner leaving it on the couch in the basement with intention to change the strings. I briefly forgt about leaving it there after dinner, and my 2 year old daughter found her way down the stairs. As I had just remembered leaving it down there and realized that my daughter was no where in sight I had this gutwrenching feeling. Sure enough I get down there, and there's my wife picking up my little girl and my guitar sitting on a different part of the couch. My wife had a look of horror on her face. My daughter had pulled the Les Paul off the couch and it fell on her. At some point in time it hit something leaving a chip about the size of my pinky fingernail just above the jack. I was angry at myself for leaving it out for a few days. As that faux pas cost me dearly in the resale value of my LP. I've since gotten over and still have the LP, and now am less inclined to sell it. It probably gets more playing time than it did before now that it has that chip on it.

Haven't nicked my JP yet. I've only had it for three weeks, but I came pretty close a couple days after I got it. I was playing in my garage when I went to play with the amp and hit the headstock on a shelf. Luckily it wasn't a scratch but it appeared to be a smudge of dirt, so I just rubbed it off. I also have some scratches on the pups and a tiny ding on the pickup switch, but other than that it's nothing.
