I posted a while back asking what amps you guys recommend pairing with a StingRay. At the time, I wasn't sure exactly how big I was wanting to go - but after some thinking, researching, and testing at GC, I've decided to go with a 100W combo amp. I've narrowed it down to two, and once again, I thought I'd get some feedback from the EBMM community. :D

The two I've been considering are:
- Fender Rumble 100 1x15
- Ampeg BA115

I have tested the Fender, and I was really impressed with the sound. I didn't get a chance to try out the Ampeg, but I've read nothing but positive reviews on it. I have read a few negative things regarding the Rumble, particularly that it isn't the greatest to use with an active bass...didn't know if anyone here could elaborate on that. The BA115's a little bit more expensive, but I've read great reviews about their products, and many of my favorite bassists use Ampeg products. I'm into pop/punk and classic rock, and I know my Ray is versatile enough for playing both styles...so I'm hoping to find an amp that is, too. Does anyone have experience playing a Ray through either of these amps?

Thanks in advance for your advice/input - these forums really are a fantastic resource! :)

For a single 115 combo, i got this, Genz-Benz M-Line 200w, have you had a look at them?, ive had it about 3yrs now and fully rate it
With a simple EQ its very effective and sounds great with my stingray through it.

I've played the Ampeg before, very good sounding combo amp. I use a different Ampeg amp, but all stingrays sound killer through any Ampeg amp.

i am not sure if 100 w is going to loud enough for you if you play in a band.i would look around at some second hand gear to see if i could get something with more power.however the b15 is a great studio amp.

Try a behringer BXL1800. Louder than the fender or ampeg you mentioned.
