Hi,

I'm looking for a JP6 for quite a time, now a guy came across me who wanted to sell a JP6 MD fully loaded. He sent me pics, I've attached some of them.

Now is this really MD or CT? There was a topic were this finish was discussed over, otherwise I didn't even know about its existence. I don't like the Cinnamon finish, it looks like an autoscooter.

I've also attached a pic of a JP6 that is in MD in my opinion..

So, what do you say?

CT?

CT?

thanks for replies,

It's mystic Dream. I'm not sure any JP's were made in Cinnamon Texture , but I can say for 100% that it is Mystic Dream. Cinnamon Texture is a discontinued colour, and that JP has the D-sonic which was only put on the JP's from aobut a year ago.

but isnt there some kind of a sparkling effect on the upper pics? or was it just a bad camera? also watch the tone.. it's nearly the same angle (it depends on the incidence of light, i know...) but a different colour..

i haven't got the serial number yet, i'll post it lateron.

Mystic Dream does the colour shift thing as well. It is defo 100% not Cinnamon Texture. Check around. You wont see any JP's with that finish.

It IS Mystic Dream.
The textured cinnamon finish was only featured on SUB1 guitars.

I don't know what autoscooters you've seen, but if I ever should get to see one in Textured Cinnamon finish I'd be happy to buy it for my living room decoration. Unparalleled finish !!! :D ...can't see what's wrong with it...

P.S.: Have a look into this older thread of mine for some pics on TC - it looks completely different from MD (apart from color shifting capabilities when changing lighting and angle):

The sparkle thing is cos of the grain used to get the colour shift. MD isn't really a sparkle finish per se. Im not an expert on this, so someone chime in if im wrong, but they use microscopic pyramid shaped crystals (???) and spray them from different angles with different colours to get the colour shift effect. The sparkle effect is just those catching the light at certain angles. At some angles my JP6 MD looks like a solid colour (Purple, burgandy, green). At others I get a blend of those on different parts of the guitar and sometimes, especially close up, you do get a sprkly effect. But nothing like an actual sparkle finish.

with that said, no more cons concerning my JP6-deal :D :D

The 'sparkle' is because the MD has a metallic-ish property to it, I guess from the "microscopic pyramid shaped crystals". I love the finish on mine!! I'd say get it!

hmm, thats strange:

I think the SN the guy gave me differs from the one you can barely make out on the picture of the jp6's back! look here:

Serial he told me : G35802
You can't really see the serial on the picture, but you can make out a 6 at the end..? this makes me a bit uncertain, unfortunately he hasn't got a cam to take more pictures.

I think it's possible that he gave you the correct serial number. I think the last digit looks more like a 2 than a 6.

The serial number by itself will tell you nothing. It is randomly assigned. Only if EBMM look up the number in their records will they be able to tell you anything. If you want, e-mail customer service to find out for yourself what color it is.

It's Mystic Dream. The JP is not available in the cinnamon texture finish. The linked page will show you the available colors for the JP. http://www.ernieball.com/mmonline/color_chart/available.html
