I know it was stated that the BFRs would no longer be available in Tobacco does that mean that others such as the SMY2D will also be discontinued as well ?

From what I was told on Thursday, the color is only gone on BFRs. You can still get it on the Axis/SS models, y2d, AL, StingRay and Sterling, but not any BFR (including BFR Axis, BFR JP, etc).

BFRs are limited production, this color (among others) is kaput on the BFR series.

Am I the only one that thinks that makes no sense at all? BP said about having to clean two different paint guns for the finish, but yet its still available on everything else?

I think that part referred to all burst colors. Is the BFR Tobacco color the same as on the other models?

I would hope they still offer it on the Axis as it’s really starting to grow on me. I just love John Denner’s main axe... a Tobacco burst quilt.

I guess there must be a colour/finish difference between BFR Tobaccoburst and regular model Tobaccoburst otherwise it wouldn't make sense. If there is a difference I'd like to know what it is too!

Probably this question could be answered by viewing said instruments on the Music Man website. I went there and looked at the ASS and ASS BFR and for the BFR the colors BP said were going bye bye are not listed as available colors. The tobacco burst IS shown as still available for the ASS. I'm not sure if Amethyst, Emerald or Walnut were ever available for the ASS (non-BFR). The SM-Y2D is still available with tobacco burst.

Note, there are still three guitars on the website shown in the discontinued Emerald.

Tobacco Burst is only disappearing for the BFR's. It is still available on the Y2D, Axis, Super Sport, Stingrays, Sterlings and Albert Lee. Amethyst, Emerald and Walnut were all exclusive to the BFR's so their departure will not affect any non BFR models.

Thanks a lot for the clarification !
Tobacco Burst is really a great color. My ASS P90 is Tobacco Burst and if I buy a Y2D, it will be a Tobacco Burst.
