Classic SR with Oiled Neck, Compensated Nut

Just asking for curiosity; couldn't find it in the search...

Was at GC recently, and they had three new Classic Stingrays- all with oiled necks and the compensated nut. Was just wondering what the story was?

The salesman was grasping and told me that EBMM gave buyers the option of these items on the basses. I doubt it, but you tell me what you know!

Yes, the first run made for GC had the standard necks. After that only gloss necks.

Yes, unfortunatley the oil & wax finish is not an option on the Classics. So if you want one of those, you have to get it from GC.
