Classic Stingray SN# location.

For those of you afraid to ask, I'll go ahead take the 'dunce cap' and admit that I'm a dumb@$$. It took me 24hrs to locate the SN on my new Classic Stringray. I looked the thing over and over, played it all weekend and had no idea where the SN is stamped.

It's on the bridge under the saddles.

I like to log all my gear with SN in case of theft or other loss. For the life of me I couldn't find the SN until I sat down to tweak the bass setup and saw the SN on the bridge when I was adjusting the saddles.

So there! Now anyone who gets a Classic doesn't have to own up to being as blind as me!

So they were originally stamped under the saddles and not on the neck plate ??? (if so didn't no that either)..

My B00 has the ser# stamped on the neck plate, the B01 has it stamped on the bridge under the saddle screws

Yes sir I do know that. I guess I should have mentioned that.

His signature took me there and I have since spent too much time devouring the knowledge there. It helped me research the build year of an older Sting Ray I'm thinking about buying.

Now taking this back on track... The fact that EBMM has even gone as far as put the SN on the bridge for the classics shows the amazing attention to detail... or maybe they found a couple of boxes of old bridge plates in the basement and have finally figured out what to do with them

The very Early Stingrays 1976,s and some had the serial number on the 3 bolt neck plate, then it moved to the bridge and now back on the 6 bolt neck plate.

Not only the '76 and some, my B00594* is from 1978.

Correct Most all 1978's had it on the neck plate also, Plus a lot of 78's still had the long Magnets that went through the body on the Pickup.

When I bought mine it took the GC staff and me forever to find it.
