I Have a new 2010 classic stingray with a slick shinny fret board {lacquer}

how would one go about cleaning that neck without rubbing off the Lacquer

or harming the strings??? As i have always owned basses with rosewood necks!

Thankx

To clean a finished maple fretboard and neck I just use a soft rag to wipe off any sweat or gunk. Sometime a little non-abrasive guitar polish helps. Don't use lemmon oil on sealed fretboards.
