That black classic with the roasted/roasted neck is phenomenal! That price-tag is a little confusing tho.

Wow! very nice indeeeed!

Although I don't really like the white pickup covers. The black looks so much classier.

while I think the black pickup covers look better, the white covers look just "off" enough to work. I dig it. the only thing I'd like to see different would be roasted flame instead of birds eye.

The blue w/maple fretboard makes me feel happy. I'd slap a white pearl pickguard on that badboy, the tort just looks odd with the white pickup cover.

Now THIS is what I'm talkin'bout. Classic SR with Roasted goodness. Swap out that hideous white PUP cover for a black one and we're in business.

Great colour. Needs a white guard though. Nothing wrong with the PUP cover.

That Tahoe is awesome. I agree it would get a white pickguard, but wow what a bass.

Nice! And I like the blue and tort look. Just not the white pickup cover.

What's the difference between the LTB and the Turquoise Pearl colours? They look pretty similar to me.

Ok all, first, I really love these basses but I have to point out some weirdness in the GC text:

Few basses are as flat-out cool or have as much powerful tone as the Music Man StingRay 4-String Electric Bass Guitar. When it was introduced in 1976, it was the first bass to feature active electronics and advances such as a 6-bolt neck joint, contoured body, superior neck truss rod system, and rock-solid bridge to keep it on top of the pack. Constructed with a select hardwood body, this bass features a roasted maple neck, BFR inlay at the 12th fret, Schaller BM tuners, 3-band active EQ, and MusicMan humbucking pickup.

  1. They didn't start with 6-bolts, contoured bodies or truss wheels
  2. These basses do NOT have the BFR inlay
  3. These are Classics so they have the 2-band

I'm sure someone just performed a sloppy cut and paste here but c'mon guys.

For the record I actually played the black one with the white p/u cover. It is a beautiful piece. It wasn't enough to replace my beloved '83. Lucky for me I have a 2-band or my credit would have taken a hit. That being said, they do have a roasted neck 3-band in blue with ebony f/b and BFR inlay that is just fabulous. Somebody buy it before my credit takes that aforementioned hit. (Pasadena GC).

maybe it's just me but that white pickup cover just doesn't sit well with me on any of those roasted beauties from GC. The black with black cover and tort. guard looks workable.

Seems to me I remember the birdseye was becoming harder to get. BP, you must have found a new source, that neck on the retro burst is to die for. I need to see one of these blue ones up close.

I just picked up a Stingray 4HH BFR with a FULL roasted neck. Everything i see online has either a rosewood or ebony fretboard. Has anyone seen a Full Roasted or does anyone own one? How many were made?
