WOW. That is one sweet axe. I like how the black really offsets the red on the guitar.

I hope yall make a great price for it. A smokin guitar for a great cause.

That it did... but getting the bass with the $ going to a great outfit made it even better.

Yah I noticed that you scored that Bongo, very sweet!!! Love the color.

CLB has to be one of the best organizations going and for EBMM to be doing what they are doing just goes to show that they are an awesome company second to none.

Later, Glenn |B)

I don't know if you guys know this, but it goes way deeper than being just a charity. Sterlings son has had a kidney transplant, and now is sporting one of BP's kidneys....That situation turned into the largest private foundation of its kind. A very cool thing started by a very scary situation. I hope BP doesn't mind me posting this, but if you do, hey, you are a moderator too and can be the 1st here to delete a post by me

While I can't contribute like a business. I would like to do what I can when I can. How do I do that?

Thanks Jack,

You have a sensitivity to kidney disease, and I am so sorry for your Moms passing.Casey went code blue twice before his sixth bday (i had to kiss him goodbye both times) and the little trooper kept fighting back. By the time he was six he had had eight operations including getting my right kidney and beat the living daylights out of the odds for his particular disease. This is much more important than guitars and basses and strings.

There are 50 terminal pediatric kidney diseases, a transplant is a treatment not a cure. Casey is at the national average for my kidney to fail but is doing extrodinarilly well but is not out of the woods...in fact he never will be as he is still technically classified as terminally ill.

In spite of his 13 pills a day Casey is doing well. The lab at UCLA is named after him and we have endowed the chair for pediatric kidney disease at UCLA. So many people have helped us become the largest private pediatric kidney foundation in the world. We are not done and thank our many many friends who have given from the bottom of their hearts in spite of all of their charitable choices.

I have been reluctant to tell the story and i have left much out as I have not wanted to trade on Casey's misfortune. Get me a little looped at the open house and I will tell you some funny stories about me and Ucla.

Thanks BP,

as I am a sensitive guy and life hasn't spared me either, I'm very grateful for all the effort you (and a lot of other people) are putting into this. I have been doing research on Alzheimer's disease for the past four years and it is still obvious that a lot of disease are in shortness of money to perform (and continue) research. It is very clear that kidney diseases are amongst them and that this money is well spent (although a lot of people still seem to ignore the fact that scientific research on known and less known pathological subjects is really necessary).

It's without doubt a brilliant concept and I hope that it will continue to raise as many money as possible. Like you said, it is more important than guitars and stuff, but one also needs the courage and the stamina to start and build up such a project. I think that says a lot about who you are and what you stand for.

It may sound strange coming from someone you don't really know, but you're definitely doing some things that a lot of people are able of doing, although they don't do it. Since I'm still working in a university environment, I'd really love to hear some stories about UCLA.

Keep up the good work, the world would be better off if more people would invest some time in projects like the CLB foundation. You rock, in multiple ways.

Thanks, Tom.

BP/Jack, I'm crying at my desk now [literally, and I'm not scared to admit it].

I couldn't imagine losing my mum or having to deal with seriously ill kids (I have nightmares about both).

Where can I send a donation?

I had no idea what CLB was all about. My most heartfelt wishes go to you both.

BP/Jack.....

I lost my mum to breast cancer a year ago. She battled for two years going through all sorts of treatment and stuff.

There is not much else I can say apart from can you sent details of where donations can be sent.

I say if you play it, support them.

Would there be any scope in some special released slinky's? with money going to the cause.

I dunno, sorry just read the thread felt had to add something, probably talking cr*p just feel moved.

Keep smiling through guys. ;)

My youngest son had two surgeries before the age of five. It's heartbreaking to see the little guy off to the O.R.. In my case, things are all better now. Not true for others.

Keeping up the awareness is so critical to retaining support - people tend to forget and this auction seems a great way to bring that attention back into focus.

Nothing should ever be taken for granted...

Hey BP,

Thanks for sharing. I don't think you should be reluctant telling your/Casey's story. I think you should go even farther and give us some info on how to make a donation to the CLB Foundation other than bidding in an auction. I think you would be surprised at the generousity of our fellow forummers. Hey, having your hand out to help and save children ain't a sin, it's a wonderful thing.
