Ok...time for some real talk, does everyone actually polish and clean the body regularly or at all?
I've never polished any of my guitars and haven't really felt a need to. I'm also figuring that polish will get crammed into the seam of the pickguard. Am I crazy?

Very occasionally, I wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. That's all I do for the body itself.

I like to use a thin liquid polish cleaner (Dunlop 65) after gig's and string changes on the body

Dunlop 65 polish is great stuff. Works great on chrome parts too, cleans all the crap off them that will corrode the chrome.

Today I will be doing my annual clean and checkup on my Silhouette Special - neck off, sand, oil & wax, fingerboard oil, body and trem clean and polish, fret shine, re-string and setup. With a fresh new bottle of EB Guitar Polish. :)

Gonna be a fun few hours (baby permitting).

Neck off, just so you don't need to tape off the sanding area?
What do you use for the trem cleaning and polishing?
Do you use a slotted piece of cardboard or anything to take steel wool to the frets?

So many questions, now that you've gotten me intrigued to do more. :)

1) Yes, though I do use tape at the headstock where the lacquer starts.
2) A soft clean cloth and my breath.
3) I have fretboard protectors. Two pieces of masking tape or painters tape works great too (stick 'em to your sweater or pant leg first to make the glue less sticky).

Awesome. Thank you for the great tips. I'm thinking I may start doing an annual cleaning.
