0000 steel wool will polish them up nicely. Stewart Mc Donald has great little metal shields that you put over the fret and protect the surrounding fingerboard.

yea i use scotts painters tape for covering my finger board then i use the fretboard , and the steel wool works great! one thing i want to ask, is it ok to take of all the strings at once? cause i need to do a little fret work on my y2d and i just want to make sure anything i need to know before i touch it.

Another bit of info. Make sure you cover the pickups(tape etc). Don't forget the pickups are magnetic and if you get any steel wool bits down there they will be attracted to the pole pieces of the pickups

Taking off all of the strings won't hurt the guitar.
You might have to tweak the truss rod a bit after restringing but try leaving it overnight and it might correct itself.
One of the great things about EBMM is how easy it is to tweak the action with the wheel of wonder at the bottom of the neck.
Truly well designed and thought out instruments:cool::cool:

Scott's point about low stick tape over the pickups is a good one. Steel wool fibres are a pain to clean off pickups with covers and even worse on pickups with no covers.

Also, stick a magnet IN the steel wool. It'll save you some hassle cleaning all those little metal bits, later, wherever they may fall. :)

You'd be surprised how good the fret board Wonder Wipes are at cleaning frets too.

all right, you convinced me to try Wonder Wipes...I'll go to buy them on Monday. I've been thinking about it for few weeks and now it's a must have!

I dont know if you have it in the States, but I have used Duraglit wadding on frets before, and they come up a treat! But you must mask the fingerboard!
