I've posted a new tune at Mixposure "If I Could" , and although it's really rough at this point, you're welcome to have a listen. I hope to get a little more work done on it this weekend and upload a better mix...

mbgreene,

that track is 100% SteveB!

From the drum machine programming, to the bass, to the several guitar tracks.

In fact, it's the first song I've recorded using my EBMM Petrucci! That's what you're hearing.. all the guitars are my JP singing (or choking, depending upon your likes/dislikes ;) ).

updated

Just thought I'd bump this thread... I've updated the "If I Could" track on mixposure.

I added some tracks, and really tried to enhance the drum parts.

I'd say I'm done with it in its current form.. it will have lyrics and vocals eventually and the guitar 'vocal guide' tracks will go away. But I'm not doing anything else to it unless its the addition of vocals.

Enjoy. I had fun making it. All the guitar tracks are a Music Man Petrucci 6-string!

Raz,

This is the first time he's ever called me "stinky lips", but I have to yield to his expertise. ;)

Honestly, that's about the mildest thing he's likely to call me! We don't pull any punches in this band! And we really, really try not to take ourselves or each other too seriously.

Wouldn't you agree with me, my crooning felchmeister? :D

Thanks, bro.

Naturally, I used a Music Man Petrucci 6-string for all the guitar parts.
I use a Boss DR-770 drum machine.
An 'other brand' bass guitar.

The only other gear used on that track is a Digitech RP-2000 modeling pedalboard. (precursor to the GNX series devices)
I recorded the guitars direct from the RP-2000. No speaker cabs, no microphones.

I like the sound of my live rig better (Peavey Triple XXX head + Behringer BG412S 4x12 cabinet), especially for clean sound.. the RP sounds OK but lacks sustain on the clean sounds. But for recording ideas as a 'scratchpad' this setup works well enough for me.

Hahaha.. thanks Bearkat16!

No prob with the jab, I like to dish it out, myself.. so I'd darn well better be able to take some abuse, too! :D

Thanks for listening, and I will let everyone know when I get around to recording some new stuff.

PghTopCat has been very prolific lately, since he set up a little studio at his house. Maybe he'll put up a myspace or purevolume page for us to listen?
