OK, wondering if anyone has had any experience with coating the pole pieces on their pickups. I just saw another post about the sharpness of them being an irritant, but that's not it for me. I play upright. I've got callusses that can drive nails.

The real issue is that when I get a little careless with my RH technique, the strings hit the pole pieces. If I lower the PU, I don't really like the tone. Seems to lose that MM punch (I admit I haven't stuck with that solution for long).

I know the flip answer is to just be a little more disciplined with my right hand, but that isn't going to happen at 1AM at a bar gig.

Anybody in the same boat?

Same difference. Thanks, though.
