so a few months ago, i put some Cobalts on one of my non EB MM guitars... it was ok, but I didn't see much difference between them and my other Slinkys. I thought it was all hype.

I decided to give them another shot... I have 2 Y2D's... I decided to put a set of Slinky's on my Purpleburst Y2d and a set of Cobalt's on my De-purpleburst Y2d. At first, I didn't notice much difference, but fast forward to a few weeks later(aka last night)... I played my the Y2D with the Cobalts... sounded great, then went to the other Y2D... night and day...

The Cobalt's were so much more vibrant sounding and somehow felt better... almost smoother to play. I can't describe it.

Total bummer too, I just received a 10 pack of Slinky's the other day. Should have bought more COBALTS!!!

If I can get them this week, and if I have the time, I'll try and make some sound clips of cobalts, slinkys, and coated slinkys. I'm really looking forward to trying the cobalts. The question for me is whether they can beat the coated slinkys, which I really love.

I've never been a fan of slinkys...they just didnt sound as good as other strings in my opinion and were a bit wierd feeling on the bends.

Got 2 sets of cobalts sat thhere, just need the time to change em and test em. From what I've read, they should take care of the sound issues.

Bring it on

I noticed the Cobalts leave metal flakes on the neck. They play very nice and I have been bouncing back and forth between them and stock slinkys.. Either way, EB has the best strings.. My 2nd choice is the DR Blues pure nickel. DiAddario's have crappy quality IMO..

has someone try it in the musician jpxi? unfortunately i will not be able to put them in my new musician jp12 because they don't make 7 strings packages, and if i want it for my 7 strings MMJP12 I will have to buy the different sets, any experiences in the MM?
