So...and I haven't posted the purchase yet lol...I have a new Caprice.
I grabbed a set of cobalt rounds and put them on after I did my setup...another GC purchase where the bass had been on the floor for a year. Anyway...
I highly recommend putting the cobalts on if you have a Caprice. For the first time ever for me, I had a bass sound just like Geddy Lee's Jazz off Tom Sawyer. Straight into the amp with no pedals. It has that extremely clear, fat, full tone that only that recording has. It blew me away.
I had put cobalts on all my active EB bases, but this is something new. The sustain is amazing, but it's that "sound" that just can't be replicated.....was replicated!
What a great combo! It's an amazing bass....perfect neck, light body...but I think the passive pickups you guys designed for this bass make it a true masterpiece....
WOW!
