Finally, got a set of 5 String Cobalts, the 25th had the oldest strings so I oiled the board and cleaned her up
and got them on. I would say in the short time I have them on they are: as advertised. I was expecting them to be brighter based the chart from the EBMM site. Absolutely worth the wait. Congrats BP and Co.

Also strung up my BFR Bongo with Cobalts today. The clarity is scary. I may have to adjust my technique (what little I have) because every bad note sounds as loud as the good notes, less places to hide...yikes.

Well executed new strings, I can get used to these, ordering more.

How's the growl? Do they have a lot of harmonic content?

I've only had a couple of hours on them but they are freaking unbelievable, +1 with Holdsg, I think the clarity is the word,
every string is clearer, and the best B just got better,

husky123 I can't crank or dig in right now but my guess is they can go wherever you want. I can't wait to get a set on my maple neck BA.

J Romano, thanks

Brian, no smoke, you guys just broke the sound barrier and reached a new threshold with strings, my name is Rick and I approve this message. All the Best.

My Cobalts are due in on Monday. They'll go on my 25th first since that's the one I use the most.......so far. There's another axe in the works.

Hey five7, firstly thanks, I always say I love all my MM's the same but if I had to pick one it would be the 25th, and it was just some wordplay on Bassmonkeee's post having gotten his strings but having his neck out on a road trip to Ca. to visit Pat Wilkins.

I played my 25th till about 2:am, all I can say is the Cobalts are perfect for me.

Heh. At least someone noticed me (and, then promptly stole my thunder with a complete bass). :D

That's a pretty serious looking assault weapon you've got there, laneline.

Hey bassmonkeee, thanks, the 25th/reflex models bring some great new voices to the dance. So did you go with a vintage tint on your Bongo neck and how about the headstock? Congrats on your new arrival, get the Cobalt's on it post haste.

I went with something a little different than what I did with the fretless neck on the Billy Bass. That one has a vintage tint. The fretted neck will have something darker, and the headstock will be done the same. I sent some waterslide decals that I made. They worked great on the last neck.

And, the Dargie will be getting Cobalts as soon as I can get a recording of it with whatever strings it ships with. That way, I can compare them to the Cobalts.
