So I have found two colors that I think are GC only colors. One is a Hot Rod Red and the other is Black Magic Crystal. They are both Stingrays with Slo rosewood necks which is what I prefer since it was the main reason for getting a Sterling. Which color would be cooler or more desirable?

On a side note it would be great if the MM crew would let us know when special colors are made. If theyh are posted then I'm a day late and a dollar short as usual.

I would go with the Black Magic Crystal if it has a matching headstock. The red will look great matched or not. That is just my opinion as i highly doubt i fit anywhere in the cool category. JOSH

I am partial to reds and no, neither bass has matching headstocks. You replying to my post makes you cool in my book. ;)

Black Magic Crystal, I'm a sucker for matching headstock's especially with a rosewood board but even with out, still sounds nice.
Don't suppose you got any pics to put up ?

Red Stingrays match their voice. Yeah please try to get some pics, even a phone pic. I agree on getting a heads up on special runs, seems like a win-win to me. And when you get it, rule #1 no pics no bass. all the best, Rick

It's really hard to make a bad choice here. I have a red bass that happens to be the bestest bass on the entire planet (at least Planet Bovine) so I might be a BIT partial to red. On the other hand, a black sparkle? Um, YES.

How can you go wrong?

I finally got around to playing the basses again an the black one was probably dropped by some goober b/c it's missing a dime size chunk of paint. I guess the red one is meant to be.

Ended up buying the red one. Will take pics soon. I took a quick pic with my phone of the neck plate. Hadn't seen this before. I have a custom made bass.

There are a lot of nice colors out there. I think it's what gets you when your out lookin'. In your case the black was dinged so the red won.
Red is good. My quilt top is venetian red.
